Children Pool Birthday Party Games
What would a kids birthday party around the pool be without some fun games? Although safety is the main concern, there are many fun games that can be played that are safe and will be enjoyed by all. Here’s just a few:
Relay Race: You will need 2 pairs of XL board shorts, 2 Straw Hats, 2 pairs of sunglasses, 2 Beach bags and 2 Beach chairs. Divide the birthday party guests into two teams, and each team lines up in a row. Place chairs at a reasonable running distance in front of each team or whatever distance available. The items listed above are placed in the beach bags and are given to each team. The first two people / runners dress in ALL of the items, run to the chair, return and take all of the items off again. The next players continue until the entire team has had a turn. The team who finishes first wins!
Squirt Gun Targets: This is one of the easiest and most simple games. Insert large plastic yard pinwheels into the ground, and then place an “X” on the ground a reasonable distance from the pinwheels. Each player will have a squirt gun or "super soaker". The players take turns standing on the X and use the pinwheel as a target.
Ice Cube Race: You will need to divide the birthday party guests into pairs. One player will retrieve ice cubes out of the pool using only his feet and pass them to his teammate who is outside of the pool.
Rubber Duck Race: The object of this game is for each player to nudge a rubber duck from end of the pool to the other, using ONLY his or her noses.
Bobbing for Flip-Flops: In preparation for the birthday party, you will need to use a permanent marker and write either 1, 2 or 3 on each flip flop and place them in a tub of water. You will also need to create 3 prize bags, each with a 1, 2 or 3, and fill each bag with gum, candy bars or other inexpensive items. Two players at a time hold their hands behind their backs, and they must use their teeth to grab a flip-flop. They collect a prize from the bag that matches the number on the one they "caught".
