After your new baby is born, your time will be in great demand! Although sending personalized birth announcements won’t be your highest priority, they should be mailed within six weeks of your baby’s arrival. The fist six weeks will drag by and it will rush by, so we have provided some helpful ideas for getting your birth announcements and mailing them out so you are not rushed “as much”.
Two Months Before Your Delivery Date: Start your mailing list by compiling names and addresses of all those you want to send baby announcements. The list usually includes family, friends, acquaintances and any other person whom you want to announce your new baby to.
One Month Prior to Your Delivery Date: During the last month of your pregnancy you should decide on the birth announcement card design and wordings. At Cards Personalized, you can select from among hundreds of birth cards, pick your typestyle, ink color and fonts and then instantly preview your personalized baby announcement card. This process can be repeated until you have your custom birth announcement just the way you want it. As you are submitting your order, you should request our “Envelopes Early” privileges. This privilege allows you to receive your envelopes early so you can begin addressing them. By addressing your envelopes early, you will have this task behind you when it is time to mail the birth announcements. After your baby arrives, call and give us the information to be added to the birth announcement cards, and we will print and ship your birth cards the same business day.
After Baby is Born: You should shoot for sending the printed birth announcements or photo birth announcements as soon after the birth as possible, but no later than six weeks after the birth date. Sending birth announcements to family, friends and acquaintances shows them you care, since for many, this will be the first in a lifetime of communication with your new baby. |
